The Wood of Life Pin from artist and nature lover Michael Michaud represents a beacon of hope in the midst of destruction. A frequent visitor to the Grand Bahama Islands, Michaud traveled again to the islands in the wake of the 2016 storms that devastated the area. Heartbroken at the sight of the once-lush Bahamian forests stripped bare by the wind, Michaud spotted a single Lignum Vitae tree - the national tree of the Bahamas known for its strong, dense wood - still standing tall. This hopeful, hand-cast pin is modeled after that tree, using hand-cast bronze, hand-applied patina coloring, and hand cast glass flowers.

Michael Michaud began his career at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology's school for American craftsmen, and graduated in 1980. Over the years, Michael has developed his unique and highly recognizable Michael Michaud Jewelry line.
