Made in Cheshire, Connecticut by trained artists at the Bovano studios, this collection of stunning enameled copper wildlife and nature sculptures are handcrafted in a unique process that results in vibrant, super-saturated color and nuanced detail that mirrors nature's intricate design.
Each bear, bird, plant, flower, or whatever creature is featured in any particular Bovano piece is first sketched out in an original design, then the sketch design is transferred onto a copper structure. The artist then sprinkles a range of colored, pulverized glass in tiny particles (by hand!) onto the copper structure to resemble the original coloring of the piece.
The pulverized glass is fused to the copper sculpture in a kiln, fired under extreme heat, to create a smooth, richly detailed, and one-of-a-kind finish on each piece.
