Hand cast in bronze and hand-finished in a blend of colored patinas, this Wood of Life Collar Necklace by artist Michael Michaud was inspired by the lush forests of the Grand Bahama Islands and the devastation seen in the 2016 storms. When Michaud joined relief efforts in the aftermath of the tragic storms, he noticed one tree - a Lignum Vitae - left standing with its bold purple flowers as a beacon of hope. This "Wood of Life," or Lignum Vitae is the national tree of the Bahamas, and has some of the densest wood in the world.

ABOUT MICHAEL MICHAUD
Michael Michaud began his career at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology's school for American craftsmen, and graduated in 1980. Over the years, Michael has developed his unique and highly recognizable Michael Michaud Jewelry line. He begins each piece by creating a model from natural elements and then transforms these models into his beautiful jewelry collection.
