About the Artist
David Heartson’s parents, with their diverse backgrounds and experiences, played a significant role in shaping his passion for jewelry and fashion. His father, originally from New York, brought with him a wealth of knowledge from his experience in the diamond industry. Meanwhile, David’s mother, hailing from Vietnam, grew up with French influence who has a keen sense of fashion and style.
As David’s loving parents settled in Hawaii, they raised him in a culturally vibrant environment that was deeply connected to the islands’ traditions. From an early age, David grew up spending a lot of time outdoors, going to the beach, adventurous hikes to waterfalls, and reaching viewpoints with breathtaking views. David absorbed the teachings of his parents, learning about the intricate craftsmanship, symbolism, and artistry behind jewelry. He developed a keen eye for fashion, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Hawaii, its flora and fauna, and the cultural motifs that adorned the islands’ traditional jewelry. As David grew older, his passion for jewelry intensified, and he honed his skills as a designer who brought his loving upbringing into the designs .
